As part of the initiatives to strengthen public understanding of free and fair competition, a specialised workshop will be held for journalists and communications professionals from various public institutions. This activity aims to provide participants with essential tools and knowledge to understand the fundamental principles of competition, its impact on the economy and society, and the appropriate way to communicate these issues in an accurate and accessible manner.
This will be the second edition of the workshop, following the first meeting held in October 2024, which brought together communicators and journalists from national media and public communication offices, with very positive results in terms of participation, contents and projection.
The training is based on Law number 42-08 on the Defence of Competition of the Dominican Republic, and responds to the need to promote a clearer, more rigorous and public interest-oriented information coverage of economic competition issues.
Train journalists and media managers on the fundamental principles of free competition, its legal framework, economic and social relevance, as well as best practices for communicating these contents to the general public.
Journalists from the media, communication managers from various public institutions, and other communication professionals with responsibilities in the coverage and dissemination of information of public interest; as well as communicators and specialists interested in acquiring tools and knowledge for the correct dissemination of the principles of free competition, its legal framework and its economic and social impact.
