Hait\u00ed promete recortar gastos e investigar a PetroCaribe en medio de protestas<\/strong><\/p>\n

18 de febrero, (Reuters).-El gobierno haitiano prometi\u00f3 profundizar la investigaci\u00f3n sobre una presunta corrupci\u00f3n en el programa petrolero Petrocaribe y reducir sus gastos, buscando satisfacer algunas demandas de manifestaciones que han agitado al pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

El Primer Ministro Jean-Henry Ceant anunci\u00f3 durante un discurso televisado este s\u00e1bado por la noche nueve medidas destinadas a aliviar la crisis econ\u00f3mica del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Ceant dijo que el gobierno reducir\u00e1 sus gastos en un 30% y se reunir\u00e1 con el sector privado para tratar de incrementar el salario m\u00ednimo.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s dijo que designar\u00e1 a un nuevo director para intensificar la investigaci\u00f3n sobre la presunta corrupci\u00f3n de Petrocaribe, una alianza entre los pa\u00edses del Caribe y Venezuela.<\/p>\n

\u00abYo y los miembros del gobierno escuchamos la voz (de la oposici\u00f3n), escuchamos su llanto, entendemos su enojo e indignaci\u00f3n\u00bb, dijo Ceant.<\/p>\n

Desde el 7 de febrero, miles de manifestantes han pedido la renuncia del Presidente Jovenel Moise y Ceant, adem\u00e1s de una investigaci\u00f3n independiente sobre el paradero de los fondos del acuerdo Petrocaribe.<\/p>\n

Los t\u00e9rminos preferenciales del acuerdo para las compras de energ\u00eda estaban destinados a liberar fondos para ayudar al desarrollo en Hait\u00ed. El pa\u00eds ha sido golpeado por desastres naturales y est\u00e1 clasificado como el m\u00e1s pobre de Am\u00e9rica, seg\u00fan el Banco Mundial.<\/p>\n
