T<\/strong>he Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA)<\/strong>\u00a0will hold the\u00a0\u201cRegional Meeting on regulatory frameworks in subregional integration mechanisms in Latin America and the Caribbean: harmonization and convergence\u201d<\/a>\u00a0to assess the degree of harmonization of regulatory frameworks of the following integration mechanisms:\u00a0Andean Community (CAN), Common Market of the South (MERC<\/span><\/strong>OSUR), Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Central American Integration System (SICA) and \u00a0Pacific Alliance (AP)<\/span><\/strong>. The base document for the meeting\u00a0\u201cRegulatory frameworks<\/a>\u00a0in s<\/a>ubregional integration mechanisms in Latin America and the Caribbean: harmonization and convergence,\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0prepared by SELA, includes chapters on the various mechanisms drafted by consultants Gustavo Guzm\u00e1n Manrique (Andean Community, CAN), Celina Pena (Common Market of the South, MERCOSUR), Ankie Scott – Joseph (Caribbean Community, CARICOM), Viviana Santamar\u00eda (Central American Integration System, SICA) and Luz Mar\u00eda de la Mora (Pacific Alliance, AP).<\/p>\n The\u00a0\u201cRegional Meeting on regulatory frameworks in subregional integration mechanisms in Latin America and the Caribbean: harmonization and convergence\u201d will serve as the basis for exchange of views and discussions. Consultants Gustavo Guzm\u00e1n Manrique, Celina Pena, Ankie Scott-Joseph, Viviana Santamar\u00eda, Luz Mar\u00eda de la Mora, and Virginia Cartaya, of SELA, will make their respective presentations, and the event will be moderated by a representative of the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System and of the Caribbean (SELA).<\/p>\n
